The form of artisan glass blowing that we practice in our glass studio is both an art form, and also a complex technical process. Creating just one single decanter, tumbler, pitcher, bowl, vase, etc; requires a lot of space specialized equipment and tools. Lets not forget that it also dozens of very skilled technicians and dedicated apprentices all working together under a practiced protocols.Â
Another way to put it. Creating quality glassware that is one part: work of art and another part: vessel of utility ; is a very difficult and time consuming process.Â
To enjoy and sustain the splendid utility of our hand-blown glassware for many years, it does require each handler, collector, patron, enthusiast to practice special handling and care for these cosmic vessels of splendid utility.Â
CARE AND HANDLING SUGGESTIONS FOR MOVEMENT GLASSWARE
- Hand washing Movement glassware is suggested.Â
- Most dishwashers(high efficiency & other models) run cleaning cycles that produce intense heat and pressure which could damage your glassware.
- Wash with soapy water that is either cool or room temperature.
- While washing, *Do not adjust the water temperature from hot to cold, keep water temperature cool at all times while washing glassware.
- Air-drying is suggested.
- Not safe for hot liquids.
- Do not place in oven.Â
- Do not place on hot stove top.
- Microwave use could damage glassware.
